The brief for my garden mural was simple, create a mural for a community garden that could be painted onto a metal fence. My idea for using the species of plants that I did came after I wasn't sure if i wanted to use tropical or desert plants as they could be made into two completely different themes. By using both I created a contrast in line work and shapes as well as a miniature story about plants from two opposite environments. An important detail of this mural became my colour choices, as I needed contrasting and harmonious colours which is why I used variations of Pink and Green. These colours also help highlight the particular plants I used as the colour scheme are associated with both.
